Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore has partnered with German motion technology leader Schaeffler to establish a cutting-edge robotics laboratory. The 900-square-meter facility will focus on developing AI-powered humanoid and collaborative robots for manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare applications.

This collaboration builds on a partnership dating back to 2017, which has already yielded innovations like real-time tactile feedback systems for robotic arms. The new hub aligns with Singapore's Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2025 strategy, positioning the city-state at the forefront of advanced robotics research.

Students will gain hands-on experience working alongside Schaeffler engineers on next-generation robotic platforms. The lab's research will particularly focus on enhancing robot perception and decision-making through artificial intelligence integration.
